When you squeeze an orange, orange juice comes out – because that’s what’s inside. When you are squeezed, what comes out is what is inside.
– Wayne Dyer
That’s the function of anything that squeezes us, it shows us what’s inside.
Sometimes it can be love, empathy, relief or laughter.
Other times, it can be anything that happens when I believe a thought: anger, frustration, impatience, sadness, grief, reactiveness, defensiveness/attack and so on. So whenever someone pushes my buttons, or I have physical pain, or my mind goes haywire due to food (sugar, dairy), or a situation triggers my stressful beliefs in general, it all has a very important function. It shows me what’s left.
