Wishing for a permanent solution

It seems that beliefs fuels fears, and fears fuel beliefs. I go into beliefs in an attempt to feel more safe.

One way I can attempt to feel safe is to wish for a permanent solution. If only…. everything will be fine.

And this solution may be an idea of “enlightenment”, what it will bring, and also that it will be permanent. All of which is a projection of what’s here now onto others or into the future, and also a story of an imagined future.

To me, it seems more honest and accurate that – as Byron Katie says – we can only be enlightened to the thought that’s here, and the next thought may be taken as true or not. There is no way of knowing in advance.

Note: How is enlightenment a projection? It’s a projection in at least two ways: (a) It’s a story about an imagined state or insight which is then imagined – projected – “out there” onto images of others or the past or the future. (b) The characteristics of this story, what it points to, is found here and now. If I imagine enlightenment as a recognition that stories, including the story of I, is simply a story, is it true that’s not already here? Is it true that the story of I is absolutely believed in here and now? If I imagine enlightenment as that which experiences happens within and as noticing itself, is it true that is not already here?

When I explore beliefs, it seems that beliefs create fear (including the basic belief of “I”) and fears fuel beliefs. I go into beliefs in an attempt to feel more safe.

One way I can attempt to feel safe is to wish for a permanent solution. If only…. everything will be fine.

For some, the big one is the idea of a “permanent enlightenment” which is a projection of what’s here now onto others or into the future, and also a story of an imagined and “permanent” future.

As Byron Katie says, we can only be enlightened to the thought that’s here, and the next thought may be taken as true or not. There is no way of knowing in advance.

……….

– can seek security through a permanent solution (wishful thinking) or by finding peace with what’s here, whatever it may be (any experience)

Basic beliefs –> fear –> wishing for a permanent solution (e.g. “permanent enlightenment”, from beliefs/fear, aka “the dream of the ego”)

BK – can only be enlightened to the thought that’s here “permanent” is a story about a future
