Burden of the Story

After listening to more of the Byron Katie tapes, it becomes shockingly clear what a burden the story can be…

For instance, the tremendous burden of the story of cancer – with all the associations and fears that comes with it. And it is not neccesary. We can just be with what is – right here/now – and do what needs to be done, without the story. Then, it can become a beautiful experience.

And we do this all the time. Layers upon layers of stories, getting us caught up in blind emotions and runaway streams of thoughts, draining our energy, confusing ourselves to no end, adding a tremendous burden to our lives. If this is not insanity, then what is?
