An open heart. It sounds good, but what does it refer to?
For me now, it refers to the space of being with whatever is happening. To allow it all to unfold. To allow the pain, the grief, the compassion, the joy, the sadness, the longing, the rejoicing, the hopes, the fears, the rawness – whatever it may be, as it appears in this or another human self. To be with it, to allow it to expand the space it unfolds within, to allow it as an expression of our shared humanity. To allow it to deepen our shared sense of humanity, of being humans together.
It is not a feeling. It is more the space which allows all our feelings, emotions, experiences.
