Wanting inquiry to do something for me

Whenever I notice I want inquiry to do something for me, I can identify those stories and take them to inquiry.

I want The Work to….

Make me feel better.

Give me peace.

Help me function better.

Give me better health.

Lead me to better relationships.

Bring me money.

Help me find clarity.

It’s all demands. And it’s all stories it can be very helpful to look at.

Note: This is one of the functions of any form of activity. It brings up beliefs I can look at. When I pray, what stories come up? When I meditate, what thoughts are behind the resistance? When I invite in the fullness of the soul, what incompatible views surface? When I do inquiry, what expectations do I have? What story is behind the resistance? What expectations are here?
