Inquiry: It’s pain

It’s pain.

Situation: A slight headache.

Is it true?

Can you be certain it’s true?

What happens, how do you react, when you have that belief?

I experience it as pain. It feels solid, real.

I have thoughts of what it means: I cannot do certain things. It may get worse.

I tense up a bit. My breath is more shallow.

I resist it slightly.

Who would you be without that thought?

Here and now. Curious.

Interested in the sensations.

Relaxed. Comfortable.

It’s not pain.

Pain is a label, a thought.

It’s more true that it’s a sensation, or just an experience. And not even that.

It’s pleasure.

I can find where it’s pleasure when I look.
