Adyashanti: It’s about reality, it’s about what is

The truth of what you are isn’t spiritual at all. It doesn’t come into being because we burn incense or light candles. That’s all fine if you are into that. We create a spiritual atmosphere. You know how you are supposed to be when you are spiritual, right?

And then you start to wake up and you realize it’s a fantasy, it’s a nicely constructed crock. That’s not what it is about at all. It’s about reality, it’s about what is. And reality is not spiritual or not spiritual.

We think this ends up in something extraordinary. The day comes when you pick up a cup of coffee or tea in the morning, and in the simple act of picking it up and taking a drink, you feel it’s the total completion of absolute reality. And it’s just having a sip of tea.
