We are as rich as the world

As who I am, as this human self, I am as rich as the world.

And as what I am, as my nature, I am as rich as the world.

AS WHO I AM, I AM AS RICH AS THE WORLD

As this human self in the word, anything and everything I see in the world is a mirror for me.

Whatever characteristics I see out there is something I can find in myself.

When I have a story about someone else or the world, I can turn it around to myself and find genuine and specific examples of how it is true. It won’t look the same, but I can still find examples of how it’s true.

As who I am, as this human self and psyche, I am as rich as the world as it appears to me.

AS WHAT I AM, I AM AS RICH AS THE WORLD

At one level, I am this human self in the world.

And when I look more closely, I find that in my first-person experience, I am more fundamentally capacity for the world as it appears to me. I am what the world, to me, happens within and as.

The richness of the world, to me, happens within and as what I am. My nature takes the form of all of it.

As what I am, as my nature allowing it all and forming itself into all, I find I am as rich as the world as it appears to me.

NOT NOTICING VS BRINGING TO LIFE

All this richness is already here. And there is a big difference between noticing and living from it and not noticing.

The world as a mirror

If I see a characteristic in the world and not myself, it’s still here in me but it won’t fit into the conscious identities I have created for myself. It will show up and color my perception and life, but I won’t recognize or acknowledge it for what it is. I won’t have a conscious relationship with it, and I won’t be able to consciously bring it out. Also, I will tend to have a reactive relationship with it in others and the world. I will be drawn to it or dislike it in the world. And it tends to reinforce an I vs Other relationship with others and the world.

If I recognize it in myself and have a more conscious relationship with it, it will more easily fit into my conscious identities, I have more freedom in how I relate to it in myself and others, and I can bring it out in any life in a more conscious and healthy way. I have a larger conscious repertoire of how to be in the world. And when I see it in the world, there is more of a sense of being in the same boat.

The world happening within and as what I am

If I don’t notice my nature, I may assume my most fundamental nature is this human self. I take myself to most fundamentally be something in particular within the content of my experience, and everything else – others, the world, space, capacity – becomes Other. This is inherently a stressful experience. It’s stressful to be an object in a world full of other unpredictable objects. It’s stressful because it doesn’t align with reality and what’s already here.

When I notice my nature, I notice the richness of it all happening within and as what I am. I find myself as oneness and the world, to me, happens within and as this oneness. This doesn’t remove the normal challenges and difficulties in a human life, but it does take some of the stress out of it. It all happens within a different context, within a context of oneness.

ONGOING PROCESS

As who and what I am, I am as rich as the world as it appears to me.

And noticing and exploring how to live from it is an ongoing process.

At a human level, there is always more I can find in myself and develop a more conscious relationship with.

And as what I am, the noticing is ongoing, and exploring how to live from it is ongoing.

A POTENTIAL UNTIL WE BRING IT TO LIFE

All of this is only a potential until we bring it to life.

If I see a characteristic in someone else and not myself, it’s still here in me but it won’t fit into the conscious identities I have created for myself. It will show up, and it may be visible to others and even myself, but I won’t acknowledge it. I won’t have a conscious relationship with it, and I won’t be able to consciously bring it out.

There is always more to discover and more to learn.
