Dream: Carrying Poseidon

We are four men with a task. We will bring a statue of a sitting Poseidon across water, swimming, and then up a hill and place him on top of the hill. I first hang back, allowing the others to take charge, but I see they are fumbling and unable to find a good way to do it. I reluctantly step in and suggest another way to do it, one that makes it easier for everyone. They follow, and I – again reluctantly – find myself in a leadership role. I am concerned about my CFS but it goes surprisingly well. We swim across the water, are able to get out of the water and up the hill, and I can do it with ease and not much effort.

The statue is of Poseidon sitting on a throne. Poseidon is the god of the ocean and water. This may have to do with emotions, similar to other recent dreams.

We are four men with this task, four masculine sides of me.

As in waking life, I am very reluctant to take on a leadership role. I prefer to hang back and let others do it, unless I see that it’s needed to get the task done. That’s how I am doing it on Finca Milagros as well. If others can take the lead and do the job well, I am very happy to sit back. If leadership is required, I may step in just enough to steer it in a good direction.

In this case, three sides of me – subpersonalities – are fumbling, they don’t know how to do it. I need to step in to coordinate to get the task done well.

I am concerned about my CFS, as I am in waking life. It goes surprisingly well. In waking life, I have learned to pace myself better and generally avoid crashes, although I am often still unsure about what’s too much and I lean to the side of caution.

We swim with the statue across water, again suggesting emotions. We then bring him up a hill and place him on top of the hill, suggesting that he is taking his rightful position as the god of the oceans and the water. He is honored for what he is.

I take on a role as a coordinator or temporary leader. Poseidon also takes on the role of coordinator or leader of water, he is placed in that position and honored for what he does.

To me, it seems I need to honor that part of me more. I tend to dismiss it. It’s an uncomfortable role for me. I do it reluctantly. I am very happy to let others do it so I can avoid the responsibility and the world, and instead sit back.

By honoring that role, by placing Poseidon on top of the hill, I can maybe find more peace with that role. I can find more fluidity with it.

This also has to do with being in charge of how I relate to my own emotions. To more consciously step into a coordinator or leadership role in how I relate to my emotions. To take charge. To metaphorically sit on the top of the hill.

How would it be to take on more of a conscious leadership role in how I relate to my emotions? My reactivity? My traumas and wounds? How would it be to take on more of a conscious leadership role here and now, in this situation?

More on the Dream

I asked AI for input on this dream. It all makes sense to me.

Here’s an interpretation based on the symbols and dynamics you described:

Poseidon is the god of the sea, of powerful natural forces, and often symbolizes emotional depth, intuition, primal power, and a deep connection to the unconscious. Carrying a statue of Poseidon suggests you are being tasked with carrying or embodying a deeper connection to these forces — bringing something ancient, powerful, and primal into a new, elevated place (the hilltop).

The four men (including you) could represent different parts of yourself — aspects of your masculine energy, different approaches or capacities for action, responsibility, leadership, and strength. The fact that you initially hang back shows your usual tendency to avoid leading or to hesitate, possibly from self-doubt, concern about energy (your CFS), or simply a natural inclination to observe first.

When you see the others fumbling, it reflects a realization that others (or other parts of you) are not able to accomplish the task as needed. Your reluctant stepping in suggests that leadership, or taking initiative, is not something your ego seeks — but rather something that arises naturally when it’s truly needed. You lead not from ambition, but from necessity and wisdom.

Your concern about your CFS mirrors real-life fears about your energy limitations. The dream shows that when you follow your deeper knowing and step into leadership from the right place — not ego, but service — the energy you need is available. You can accomplish what you feared you couldn’t, with surprising ease.

The crossing of water symbolizes an emotional or spiritual passage — moving through the unconscious, facing feelings or inner depths. Going uphill suggests effort toward a higher goal, an elevation of consciousness, or fulfilling an important life task.

In short:
The dream seems to affirm that you have the capacity to lead — not out of ego, but from wisdom and service — and that when you align with this role, even your physical challenges can ease. It’s about trusting that the deeper forces (Poseidon energy) will support you when you are on the right path, even if your mind doubts it.
