Dream: Magical seeds

Maya Nut seeds are flying and swarming, almost like a flock of birds or a school of fish. They are intelligent, wise, and allies.

This is a dream fragment from a larger dream involving a large public indoor space, interesting interactions with people, and so on. I don’t remember much of that larger dream.

The seeds are an expression of the consciousness, aliveness, and intelligence of everything – of the web of life, of existence. They are allies, helpers, guides.

WAKING LIFE

I finalized the most recent order of plants1 yesterday, for our food forest and regeneration project, and it felt good to bring attention to something practical, deeply meaningful and rewarding, and enlivening.

It felt like medicine, especially now when there is a lot happening that’s challenging (close relatives either dying or with serious illness, selling family home, serious problems as a fall-out of the roof collapsing last year and almost killing us, my wife having to leave due to Schengen rules, and so on.)

I especially love Maya Nut trees and their seeds. I was able to receive some last fall from friends in the area with Maya Nut trees, and the nursery I have been in contact with said they will have some too.

That, in itself, makes the seeds and seedlings magical. Last night, before going to bed, I was also reminded of how absolutely magical it is that this web of life exists. How come something as amazing as this exists? So finely tuned. So alive and vibrant. So much one seamless whole and also so immensely diverse.

And, of course, the absolutely baffling thing that anything exists at all. That there is consciousness, this world, existence. It’s amazing and baffling beyond words.

In the dream, the seeds were magical and a support for me, as they are in waking life.

This dreams remind me of magical realism, and how life – at least in my experience – is closer to magical realism than what most Western literature see as realism.

It’s also a reminder of something far more practical, and that is to remind the woman in the nursery that I am looking for Maya Nut seedlings, and to set whatever she has aside for me.

A MIRROR

The dream is also a more direct mirror. Each part and dynamic of the dream reflects parts of me.

I have those magical seeds in me. I have seeds that are wise, intelligent, an ally, and a guide, and can grow into something much larger and amazing. I am those seeds, when they are here.

How is it to connect more intentionally with these magical seeds in me?
