I am a Japanese animator, and master a range of styles. It’s very satisfying. I have a connection with Hayao Miyazaki, and he comes by to look at my work and is satisfied. I used to be his assistant.
Animation was one possible path for me, although not one I seriously considered. What is the dream about? I suspect it’s inviting me to find my inner Japanese animator, the one doing what he is passionate about, and that is imaginative, fun, and often magical and moving.
In this dream, I am someone quite different from waking life, so it’s a reminder that the consciousness I am – in my own immediate noticing – can take any form, and even what thoughts tell me is “me” or “I” can be anything, including a Japanese animator. Of course, my mental field will tell me that this human self (really it’s mental representations of this human self) that’s just about always around in waking life is me, since that makes sense and works best for pragmatic reasons. But it is free to take any mental representation as me or I.
The image is created by me and Midjourney, it’s similar to some of the projects I was working on in the dream.
