Dream: A community using therapeutic movement

I am with a group of people. We all use movement to stay healthy as individuals and community. We use to it to explore, express, and get more familiar with what’s here and what is about to emerge. The movements are free, spontaneous, guided by what’s outside of conscious awareness.

I leave the building and see that people in the wider community do the same. I meet Bernie Sanders on a bike, and he excitedly tells me an insight he has had.

In my own smaller community, and in the wider community, we are all using therapeutic movement for exploration and expression and getting to know ourselves, each other, and life.

The movements remind me of how we use movement in Process Work (Process Oriented Psychology), different forms of free therapeutic movement (Biodanza etc.), and even Breema (when free of the forms and brought into daily life).

The dream may be a reminder for me to explore therapeutic movement more, and bring it more into my life, maybe in a more free form than in the past.

It also suggests that different parts of me – my inner community – is already doing this. They use movement to explore and get to know themselves.

Of course, movement – in all forms – is how we always explore and get to know ourselves and each other, so why not do it more intentionally?
