Music has always been important to me, and I love discovering new-to-me music. See below for some of my current and past favorites organized by category.
I tend to listen to full albums so the individual songs here are representatives for their albums and likely also more albums by the same artist/performer. This list spans a wide range of genres and the music I actually listen spans a lot more than what’s listed here. On Spotify, I often explore mixed playlists based on one artist to discover related ones (“Radio …” etc.).
I tend to listen to one musician/ genre/ composer/ performer for a while – hours, days and sometimes weeks – before switching to something else.
This is a companion article to A few of my music favorites through the years which organizes the music on a timeline.

Sting & Kate Bush
I love the music of Sting and Kate Bush, for slightly different reasons. Kate Bush gives me goosebumps and Sting is just very good songwriting with a heart.

I have listened to Arvo Pärt, Steve Reich, Meredith Monk, John Adams, and others since my late teens.
Early & classical music
This section could be very long. I especially enjoy recordings by the Tallis Scholars, Jordi Savall, and others.
