Dreams: My father is clear and spirited

My father is his real age, and his body and energy is clear, youthful, and spirited.

In real life, my father is showing signs of aging but otherwise doing well. In general, much of what we think of as associated with aging has to do with the accumulated effects of identifications and beliefs. Energy is tied up, muscles are chronically contracted, and the body stiffens up, and that takes its toll when it accumulates over the years.

In the dream, all of that was cleared up and he was youthful and enlivened.

I wonder if this reflects the work I am doing these days, and what’s being cleared up through the Vortex Healing. I have worked on a range of basic issues, including stuck energy in the shoulder area which is a characteristic of my family. I associate it with my father, and as the energy clears up in me (still in the process), it may be reflected in dreaming about my father having this clear and more vital energy.

Mimicking other treatments in Vortex Healing

Vortex Healing is performed by a divine intelligence using divine energy, and this intelligence is able to mimic other forms of energy treatments. I was skeptical about this (all of it!) before I tried it myself, but now that I have received and given a good number of sessions, I see that it works, and it works very well.

This morning, I was sitting outside enjoying the snow and the sun and I gave myself a Five Element Acupuncture treatment using Vortex Healing. And it really feels like a good Five Element treatment, both during and after. The effect is as strong or stronger, and the main difference is that it seems to work faster.

Using spare attention for noticing, resting, healing

Through the day, there are many periods where I have spare attention. It may be after I wake up and am still in bed, before falling asleep, when I walk, shower or cook, when I use public transportation, when I rest, and so on.

During these periods, I often use my spare attention intentionally. I may notice what’s here – sensations, thoughts, sight, sound, taste, smell. I may intentionally rest with – or as – what’s here. Nowadays I often use Vortex Healing for myself or others. And in the past (going back to my teens), I have often used heart prayer (Jesus prayer), ho’oponopono, or tonglen.

Sometimes, I just let the mind do what it does in the moment and gently notice it.

Approaching from different sides

In Vortex Healing, we work divine consciousness and energy so it’s easier – as far as I can tell – to work on consciousness and energetic issues.

In our western civilization, we are identified with and as matter and have developed techniques, tools, and understanding to work with physical issues (engineering, surgery etc.) so it’s easier to work on physical issues.

These are two ways of approaching reality and they complement each other very well.

This came to mind since some things are relatively straight forward to work on with Vortex Healing, but may seem impossible or nearly impossible to work on from the perspective of conventional western culture.

Deeply healing one issue will tend to impact other areas

Everything is connected. And, really, everything is movements within the same seamless whole.

This evening, I used Vortex Healing to prevent kidney stones. (I had an experience with it about ten years ago.) I noticed the energy working in the kidneys first, then moving up the spine and higher in the chest, and then working in the belly. (There was a lot releasing there, judging from all the physical movement). There was a clear sense that the belly healing and releasing had to do with preventing kidney stones. And a reminder that deeply healing one issue includes healing underlying issues which in turn may have several surface manifestations. In this case, I had the sense that healing the underlying issue of the kidney stones also meant healing an aspect of my belly and digestive issues.

Vortex Healing for my brain

Some years ago, I received several diksha sessions that were very powerful. They led to samadhi during meditation and a non-dual type awakening where any sense of separate self fell away. This lasted for about six months and was followed by CFS and a collapse at all levels. During the early CFS phase, I noticed a sense of energetic emptiness in the forehead and temporal area. It has gradually filled in as I gradually healed and got stronger again.

When I encountered Vortex Healing about ten months ago, I noticed the energy worked a great deal in my forehead area. It did when I received the first sessions. It did in the weeks before and during my first vortex class. And it worked on my forehead area whenever I ran vortex for several weeks or perhaps even months. After my second class, the energy has worked on my forehead whenever I use the global healing grid – whether it’s for another or myself. Just now, I received a vortex session on the collapse, and the energy worked very strongly on my forehead and temporal lobes during the whole session and after.

My sense is that the diksha did something to my temporal lobes especially which led to the awakening and the following collapse. Vortex Healing seems to work a lot on healing whatever happened. (It’s also possible that my life situation, and going against my knowing on an ongoing and major life decision, contributed to the collapse and the energetic emptiness in that part of my head and brain.)

Using Vortex Healing for myself through the day

Especially on days that are more open, I’ll sometimes work on one issue for myself through the day. I’ll check in while still in bed in the morning, find something to work on for myself, and then I work on it through the day – either in the background as I am doing something else, or more fully while walking or when I am not doing anything else. It feels good to do it this way right now, and it seems that it can go quite deep. So far, I have worked mostly on the physical body (organs, digestion, brain, any infections, any inflammation) and energetic system (energy pathways, chakras), although also some emotional/identity issues. I still have a reasonably long list (literally) of things to work on….!

Willing to experience discomfort in healing & awakening

Healing and awakening – and life in general – requires some willingness to experience discomfort.

And this willingness comes with experience, skills, and trust.

It comes from experience with moving through discomfort. It comes, it’s familiar, it passes.

It comes from skills in how to relate to it. For instance, notice and allow. Rest with it. Notice the space around and within it. Notice it’s already awakeness.

It comes from trust in the process, in all as awakeness (the divine), in all as lila (the play of the divine).

We can also explore the fear of discomfort more directly, for instance, through inquiry or Vortex Healing. We can meet it, explore it, and see what’s there and where it’s coming from.

For me, I notice this most clearly in inquiry and Vortex Healing. Inquiry requires me to meet and dive into the scariest and “darkest” areas of my experience. And over and over, I get to see that it’s not as scary as it first appears. In Vortex Healing, after going deeply into something that needs healing or awakening, there is often a kind of healing crisis which can be uncomfortable. (This can be reduced or avoided by doing it more gently and doing more integration and catch-up, and I typically do this with a client. But when I do it for myself, I often choose to dive into it with less restraint.)

Ric Weinman: What needs to be done?

6) Do good deeds & save the world. This was traditionally called karma yoga. But most people who practice it do so from the wrong understanding and get nowhere with it, in terms of their own awakening. Typically, karma yoga is practiced from the point of view of ‘what can I do?’ Every action is taken based on ‘what can I do?’ and so every action reinforces the position that it was generated from, which has ‘I’ at the center of it. ‘What can I do?’ is centered on the ‘I’. True karma yoga asks, “What needs to be done?” Notice that there is no ‘I’ here at all. One has already surrendered the ‘I’ for the sake of the larger need. This kind of karma yoga becomes a practice of ‘not-I’ and develops the sense of not-I. Done long enough with enough sincerity, the sense of not-I will keep going deeper until it becomes the living reality in the core of that being.

– Ric Weinman in The Nature of Awakening Part 2

Working on oneself

At a small gathering of Vortex healers, the senior healer mentioned that she rarely works on herself and added, “I don’t have time, too many clients”. A few things came up for me about this:

This is – in my experience – not typical for the Vortex Healing community. Most I know use Vortex Healing to work on themselves quite extensively, both as maintenance and to clear deep personal, ancestral, and karmic material.

Saying “I don’t have time” – as most of us do now and then – is a polite way of saying “I don’t prioritize it”. I try to make it a practice of being honest about this so when I notice the impulse to say “I don’t have time” I change it to “it’s not a priority for me”. I may not say either out loud, but I say it to myself so I can see what’s going on. It can feel harsh, but it’s honest, and the truth shall set us free.

Finally, I tend to be drawn to approaches that benefit both myself and clients. Tools I can use for myself and others, and that benefits me even as I work with clients. Vortex Healing is a good example of these type of tools. Now that I have some time, at least for a few weeks, I find myself using Vortex Healing for myself for several hours each day. (So far, I have worked on chronic fatigue, clearing energy pathways, digestion, possible infections, possible inflammation, misophonia, lungs, throat chakra, shoulder tension, karmic hooks, and a few other things.)

It’s important to find a balance between working on oneself and the rest of life, and now that I have more time, it feels like a valuable opportunity to take some time for myself.

How does Vortex benefit me as I work on a client? The energy flows through me so my system opens up and is energized. Also, there is an element of service, of doing what’s needed in the moment.

Ric Weinman: The Nature of First Awakening (article)

So, if the ego does not awaken, who does? Imagine you are having a dream that you are a cow, and suddenly you wake up and you are back in your bed as yourself. You would not say that the cow woke up and realized it was you. You didn’t turn into a wise cow. You would say that you were always yourself but were lost in the dream of being a cow, and that you awoke out of that dream of being a cow. The moment you stopped pretending/dreaming you were a cow, you were back in your normal experience of yourself. The dream character didn’t wake up; the dreamer did. […]

Often, I will get an email from a student who has had a powerful spiritual experience and the student wants to know if this is awakening. The answer is found by looking at whether there is still a sense of ‘I’ residing in the heart. In fact, this is the only true test of awakening—not external behavior, not symptoms, not subjective experiences of peace or bliss or oneness. The only test of this initial awakening is whether or not the ‘I’ has disappeared from the heart. A student may have a taste of awakening (different from mystical experiences), where they feel they have disappeared, but if I can see that the ‘I’ is still there in the heart, awakening hasn’t happened. Sometimes, as a student gets close to awakening, enough of that sense of ‘I’ has broken down that it is hard for them to sense it. But no matter how subtle it is, if it is still there, awakening has not happened. The other ‘false positive’ that can happen, especially with students of neo-advaita teachers, is that the student truly has gotten that there is no ‘I’, but they have gotten this in their head only, and it has not penetrated to their heart. Getting it in their head does create a change in their consciousness, but it still is not true awakening. It is more like a taste of awakening in the mind, and sometimes neo-advaita students get stuck in that place.

– Ric Weinman in The Nature of Awakening, printed in Paradigm Shift, Issue 43, July 2009, UK

I selected these two sections of his article, the first as a relatively standard (yet clear and insightful) description of awakening, and the second as a hint of how awakening in a Vortex Healing context is understood in a quite precise and differentiated way. Here is Part II of the article and a list of additional Vortex Healing articles.

The approaches I find especially helpful, their unique contributions, and how they work together

I have found a few approaches especially helpful to me: Breema, inquiry (The Work, Living Inquiries), Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE), and Vortex Healing. I am also certified in Breema, Living Inquiries, TRE, and Vortex Healing.

It doesn’t mean that I think these are the best approaches out there in any general sense, or that they are right for everyone in all situations (they obviously are not). But they are the ones I am most familiar with, and they do work well for me.

Here are some of the unique contributions of each, and some of the ways I notice they are in mutual support of each other.

Breema. Receiving and giving Breema gives a deep sense of nurturing and wholeness. We find the health that’s always here, and within which conventional illness and health exist. As a practitioner, it also helps me explore the wholeness of who I am as a human being, what it all happens within and as (presence, awakeness), and how to shift back into noticing and living from that noticing. In general, Breema has a full and nurturing quality.

TRE. TRE helps me release tension out of the muscles, and that reduces anxiety, depression, and compulsions. It helps the body and mind heal and operate from a more healthy and dynamic state. It can also help us be less afraid of trauma since we know there is a through it to health.

Living inquiries. Living Inquiries helps release the charge out of charged thoughts (fears, identities, compulsions). Through exploring how thoughts (images, words) and sensations combine, and how thoughts give meaning to sensations, and sensations give charge and substance to thought, the association between these loses its strength. Sensations are more easily recognized as sensations and thoughts as thoughts. The sense of substance and reality of fears, identities, and compulsions is reduced or falls away more thoroughly. This form of inquiry also gives a variety of insights, both into general dynamics and patterns of the mind, and into specific issues (e.g. their roots, how they relate to early experiences and identities).

Vortex Healing. Vortex Healing can be used for general or very specific issues, from energizing or healing physical issues to working on specific traumas or identities.

Mutualities. There is a great deal of mutualities between these.

Breema offers an important sense of nourishment and wholeness.

TRE releases the charge out of anxiety, depression, and compulsions (especially when used over time). TRE can also bring up emotions or memories which then can be explored in inquiry or Vortex Healing.

Living Inquiries can bring insight into issues and identities, and help us recognize the healing qualities of presence and resting with (and as) any content of experience.

Vortex Healing can be used on body contractions identified through TRE or Living Inquiries, or any issues or identities that surface through the other approaches.

Very simplified, I find that Breema offers nourishment and a sense of wholeness. TRE releases tension deeply and quite thoroughly (over time). Living Inquiries offers insights and takes a sense of substance and solidity out of stressful patterns, thoughts, and identities. And Vortex Healing can work on just about any issue and identity.

Healing and awakening. Each of these approaches also acknowledges the connection between healing (as who we are) and awakening (as what we are). They each support healing and awakening in their own way.

Dream: Wizard training

Two wealthy people encourage me to use my abilities in their service. I refuse, and after a while, they realize I won’t change my mind.

I am then offered to stay indefinitely in a beautiful old and large house with others with similar abilities so we will have the opportunity to develop our abilities undisturbed.

This dream reflects my daily life and concerns these days. I have worked with clients using Vortex Healing, and I have seen the temptation to do it mainly for money. It doesn’t make sense to me since I want to do it to support people and for their benefit. (That’s also what will benefit me the most.)

Also, I am not really working these days and am housesitting for a few weeks (taking care of a dog in Hayes Valley in San Francisco, and then several horses in Southern Oregon). A part of me is slightly bothered by it. But, as the dream showed me, I do have an opportunity to explore Vortex Healing, work with clients (by donation or as a gift), and work on myself.

Darkest before the dawn in inquiry and Vortex Healing

When I facilitate a client in inquiry, and also when I give someone a Vortex Healing session, I often notice the “darkest before the dawn” pattern. In a Living Inquiry session, we may enter a neglected area and nothing seems to move for a while. Then suddenly there is a shift and resolution. And the same sometimes happens in a Vortex session.

It’s a reminder that I don’t really know what’s happening. The surface signs do not tell the whole story. So trust the process. Do the facilitation or healing to the best of your abilities. Follow the process and be prepared to be surprised.

Testimonial for Vortex Healing: Foxy Muffin

Foxy Muffin had lost all signs of happiness and vitality over the past 6 months. I often thought of plans for her last days and when would be the right time to end her life so she would not suffer.  P. asked if he could do a Vortex  Healing session for her and I agreed hoping for any positive change. I was not expecting to see the energy and excitement that appeared the same day.  Over the past few weeks I’ve seen the happy, playful, and fun little Pomeranian that I knew was there all along. Foxy eats better, her tail is high in the air and she appears to have experienced a healing of sorts.  I can see a difference with every session P. does for her.

– Paul C.

Update July 22: Paul let me know that in the most recent veterinary tests for Foxy, they found no signs of cancer. The initial x-rays from six months ago showed a mass of cancer, and this was gone on the x-rays from this week.

Vortex on kidneys and other of my own issues

Kidneys. For many years, I have noticed a weak kidney energy. Initially, it seemed like an energetic “hole” in the kidney area/lower back, and then – especially through Breema – it started filling up. Since then, it’s been quite weak although it fluctuates. (It may have to do with fear and/or trauma, and I have also had kidney stones which may be related.)

I have been using Vortex Healing on this weak kidney energy. Right now, I am especially drawn to running Vortex to clear and energize the energy pathways in and related to the kidney area. I notice that the energy seems to be working on blockages. and there is some discomfort coming up. This discomfort is something I have noticed before related to the weak kidney energy, and it seems to have an emotional component. I may ask to be shown what is is about. And I plan to add to this as I discover more or things shift.

Update: After doing this for a morning, there was a shift. The energy in the kidney area/lower back feels softer and more full now. I have been drawn to run Vortex on the tissue in the area since. (I do it off and on as I have time and remember.)

Brain fog. For a day or two, I have used vortex on my brain fog. Initially, the energy worked in the frontal lobe/forehead area. Now, in the evening, it’s working more in the lower brain/brainstem area. I’ll keep running the energy.

Testimonial

I asked P. to do a Vortex Healing series with me on long-standing chronic pain in my abdomen.  I felt immediate relief after the session.  Although the pain returned for a short period of time after the first session, within a week, the pain never returned.  More than that, the series of sessions appeared to have opened up some deep emotional/energetic blockages for me that were associated with this pain.  It feels as though energy moves much more freely up and down my spine now.  I highly recommend P. to anyone with such blockages.  I don’t know exactly how Vortex Healing works, but it does!

Doing Vortex Healing while tired vs clear

I am still early in exploring the different facets of Vortex Healing.

One thing I am curious about is how my own state influences a healing session that I am giving.

For instance, it seems that if I am clear and alert, my sensing and intention are more clear. I get a better sense of what the energy is doing and where it is going or wants to go. I am also better able to keep a clear intention during the session, which seems to help the energy to be more focused and go deeper.

If I am tired and less clear, my sense is that the energy is about equally strong and it’s still guided by divine intelligence. What’s missing may be a clear sensing of what the energy is doing and where it wants to go, and my own intention may also be less clear and less able to direct the energy.

It’s not necessarily a huge problem since the energy is mainly guided by divine intelligence, but I definitely am going to try to avoid scheduling sessions when I suspect I may be tired and wiped out, for instance immediately after a long day at work.

Dark nights of the soul & trauma

There are different varieties of dark nights in a spiritual process. In some ways, there are as many varieties as there are dark nights since each one is somewhat unique.

Still, there seems to be some general categories or facets of dark nights. One category or facet is a dryness or lack of meaning and enthusiasm. Another is an experience of loss of God’s presence or an expansive state. And one is where the lid is taken off of our unprocessed stuff and it emerges to heal and be recognized as spirit itself.

I imagine that each dark night is really an adaption to a new emerging phase, and it’s difficult to the extent we struggle against it and try to hold onto beliefs and identities not compatible with this new phase.

The type where the lid is taken off our unprocessed stuff is especially interesting to me. It seems that it’s mainly connected with trauma. A lifetime of trauma surfaces to be seen, felt, loved, healed, and for spirit to recognize it as itself. And it’s not only one lifetime of trauma, but several. Trauma from our ancestors is passed on through the generations (behavior and epigenetics) and our culture. Trauma may even be passed on from past lives. No wonder such a process can be intense and feel unbearable.

I find it helpful to think of it in a trauma perspective. It makes it more grounded and concrete and points to some ways we can work on it and ease some of the pain inherent in it.

It does seem that the process needs to run its course and lives its own life. And it also seems that we can work on certain elements of what’s happening and make the process a little easier on ourselves.

I have found the following helpful for myself:

Therapeutic tremoring (TRE) to release tension and trauma out of the body.

Inquiry (The Work, Living Inquiries) to support release of beliefs and identifications. (These create a struggle with what’s happening, and they are also what hold trauma in place.)

Natural rest. Notice and allow.

Heart centered practices. Ho’oponopono. Tonglen. Metta. Towards myself, suffering parts of myself, and others.

Service and work, as I am able to. (There has been times when all I could do was survive, and other times when service and work has been possible and very helpful for my own process.)

Body-inclusive practices such as Breema, yoga, tai chi, and chi gong.

Nature. Good diet. Herbal medicine. Supportive friends. Gentle exercise.

Understanding of the process. Guidance from someone who has gone through it themselves.

More recently, I have found Vortex Healing to be helpful for me in this process and in general.

Why does the trauma surface in this way, and sometimes in such a dramatic fashion? To me, it seems that life is impatient in clearing us and making us better vessels for whatever awakening is here. Any trauma in our system will prevent a deepening and stable awakening, and an expression of the clarity and love that’s recognized in the awakening. It’s also a very humbling process, which means that identifications are stripped off and we become a little more aligned with reality.

Note: When I wrote “categories or facets of dark nights” it’s because these characteristics sometimes seem to appear one at a time (categories) and sometimes several at once (facets).

Testimonial

I just wanted to thank you for the great vortex healing sessions you have given me so far. I have experienced many different healing modalities in the past but nothing comes close to the vortex sessions with you. I found myself having big changes in one session that would normally take many sessions in any other healing work. I also thought your ability to tune in and fine tune so to speak what was going on for me was very helpful. Your natural ability as a healer is clear to me and I look forward to working with you again in the near future.

Vortex Healing for animals

I have two Vortex Clients who happen to be dogs, and they both seemed to do much better following the sessions. Here is what a friend of mine wrote me after the session with her dog, Blossom.

Blossom has made a miraculous recovery ! 3 legs but barking and running and chewing bones . I think it was you. Thank you thank you.

And the following day:

Whatever happened with blossom is a total Miracle !!!!

Vortex Healing woven into daily life

As I explore Vortex Healing (VH) more, I see how it can be woven into daily life.

When I do inquiry sessions for myself or others, there are times when VH naturally fits. For instance, to calm the mind and ground at the beginning of the session. As something comes up during the session, including body contractions (run VH on what comes up or the contraction). At the end of the session for integration and calmness.

When I walk, drive, rest, before falling asleep, or after waking up, it’s easy to do some VH on whatever issues are current for me or whatever the intelligence behind it sees as highest priority.

Whenever something comes up in daily life – emotions, deficiency stories etc. – I can take some time to use VH on it. I can ask to be shown what it is about, and also for healing.

Vortex Healing and how it’s experienced by giver and receiver

I have been experimenting with Vortex Healing (VH) after doing the basics course, and one of the first things I noticed is the difference in experience between the giver and the receiver. As the giver, I tend to experience strong energies running through me and it can be quite intense. The receiver experience whatever quality of Vortex is channeled, which for instance can be deep peace and centering. It seems that unveiling peace can require a lot of energy!

Vortex Healing & Inquiry

Here are some simple ways of combining Vortex Healing (VH) and inquiry.

Use VH to settle the mind, center, nurture, find peace. This is a good starting point for inquiry.

Use VH on an issue and then follow up with inquiry. VH tends to break down the density of the issue, making inquiry easier.

Use VH on a body contraction to help dissolve it and bring the issues related to it to the surface. This can then be explored further with inquiry.

Any of these can be done during a session. I did an inquiry session today where I used VH to help settle the mind, and then on the particular issue and body contraction that came up during inquiry. There are often periods of resting with what comes up, and especially sensations and body contractions, and that’s where it’s relatively easy to bring in VH.

As I continue to explore Vortex Healing, I am sure I’ll find more ways the two go hand in hand.

Vortex Healing sessions & updates

I have had three vortex healing sessions since last Thursday. I initially dismissed it because of the new agey name and terminology but decided to try it based on testimonials. After the first session, I changed my view.

Here is a brief report on each session with the most recent on top. I may add more here as I do more sessions.

Basics course Berkeley April 12-17, 2016

Prior to the workshop: A lot has come up over the last few weeks leading up to the course. I have also felt the VH energy work in different areas of my body at times (or so it seems), especially the front of my head. The two VH people I know (KD and NW) say that this is not uncommon. It’s the energy preparing me for the course.

What I have noticed the most is mostly two things: (a) Heartbreak, fear in the heart connected to a sense of abandonment that’s wordless and agonizing. And (b) the energy at times working on my frontal lobes. I have noticed that this area has felt “off” energetically since I got the strong CFS/PTSD and has been in need of healing. (The “off” sense and need for healing may be related to the diksha I received just before all this happened.)

Day one. The energy was quite strong through my body and also moving between areas (especially head). I walked a lot today to get fresh air and movement.

Day two. The vortex wheel was operation by the end of the afternoon so I spent a couple of hour in the evening running different types of vortex lights, and running vortex for different issues. The energies were quite strong, in different areas of the body depending on the issue, and the different vortex lights had very different qualities. I slept well and through the night for the first time in weeks, perhaps because I used the dream blue vortex before falling sleep.

Day three. A deepening from the previous day. I went on a long walk in the evening (from Rudramandir in Berkeley to where I am staying in Rockridge) and ran vortex on a self-destructive pattern I have noticed in myself. (This self-destructive pattern came in or was amplified when I went against my guidance on a major life issue. I was very much aware of it and struggled with myself since I wanted to follow what was so clearly right but was unable to do so. I was paralyzed by fear and conditioning and unable to break free from it until I finally was able to.)

Day four. I received a 10 minute session from Gailynn before class on trauma and a hyperactive/hypervigilant nervous system. (This takes a lot of energy and takes the form of sound sensitivity, discomfort when I am in noisy places or places with lot of people.) She said I had the energy of a soldier whose been to war, and that’s my experience as well. It’s possible this is from “being pushed into war” in past lives, as she said, or there may also be things from this life. She also gave me and another student a mini-session on Lyme. And she pointed out that I have a depleted energy system, which I am very aware of (the kidney energy is especially low), and that it will be good for me to use Vortex to energize my system (which I am doing and plan to continue with).

Day five. I am getting a better sense of how to connect with the Vortex wheel etc. (ask for it), the different qualities available, and how to use them. I also started doing VH on myself at different ages, which has been an interesting experience. (I assume it heals any wounds left in me from what happened at different ages from before conception and up.)

#9 April 9

A session in person with NW in Oakland. He worked on subtle energy pathways since that’s one of the things that needs to be done in person. Apparently, there were some blocks in the heart area. He then worked on draining the manifesting energy behind the Epstein-Barr virus. For the rest of the session, he worked on me feeling undeserving of a good life and a self-sabotaging dynamic. (I have a pattern of getting close to what feels deeply right to me, or even having it, and it then falling apart and away within a very short time. This dynamic came gradually more to the foreground after I went against my clear inner guidance on a major life decision some years ago.)

My “homework” is to recognize the undeserving dynamic for what it is: Created by the mind. Inherently without substance. Made up by energies and imaginations.

Mini session April 8

On and off for at least a couple of weeks now, I have had an energy/sensation in my heart area that’s familiar to me. As mentioned below, it feels preverbal (from infancy?) and as a matter of life-and-death. The sensation itself is not so strong, but it’s what my mind does with it – the stories it attaches to it – that makes it seem almost unbearable. I asked my friend KD to do a brief VH session on it, and he agreed. The session lasted about 15 minutes. I noticed that the uncomfortable sensation in the heart area disappeared and/or shifted almost right away. The VH energy then seemed to go down to the solar plexus and finally up to the frontal lobes.

After the session, KD said there was some fear in the heart, he did a few things to transform it, and also some repatterning of the consciousness.

#8 Sunday April 3

Sixth session with NW. This was focused on a deep abandonment issue that comes up for me now and then. (It seems preverbal and almost as a matter of life-and-death, and it may be from infancy.) He did all the steps of the protocol, and said it was a straightforward session. I noticed a (comfortable) burning energy in my head, moving down to the heart, moving down legs to the feet, and then a warmth at the solar plexus.

NW also explained that in the month leading up to a basics/foundations class (which I am doing in about 10 days) the energy will work on and prepare the participants. That may explain why my sleep has been unusually fragmented for the last few weeks. I had a sense it had to do with the VH energy.

Update the following day: I woke up this morning and my first impression and thought was that something was missing from me. Then I remembered the session the night before.

I also have had a sense of the energy/intelligence working on me before and after sessions, sometimes for days, and that may be true. It does fit what NW said about the energy/intelligence working on participants of the basics course starting a month or so before the course. (I know this sounds woo-woo to many, but it does seem accurate based on my own experience.)

Update some days later: At times, it seems that the VH energy is working on me quite strongly on its own accord. Right now, mainly in the head and forehead area. (With the CFS and PTSD, I have for a while had an energetic sense that the frontal cortex has especially needed healing.)

#7 Monday March 28 (1/2 hour)

Fifth session with NW. He focused mostly on the remaining Epstein-Barr viruses and said they were about 95% gone at the end of the session. (Most or all of the active infection gone, the dormant left.) He also strengthened the immune system and made it more alert to the remaining EPV.

#6 Monday March 21

Fourth session with NW. This was mainly focused on the Epstein-Barr virus (EPV) infection. He said the EPV is cleared about 70% so far. He also finished the main steps for working on the brain fog, although there is more that can be done. And he spent a few minutes energizing the kidneys. (I have noticed a weak kidney energy since my twenties.)

I didn’t notice that much effect of this session, perhaps because it mainly focused on an infection already “knocked back” to some extent with herbal medicines.

#5 Monday March 14, 2026

Third session with NW. He first focused on the Epstein-Barr infection and “knocked it back” although need more work to eliminate it completely he said. He also removed some conditioning around the brain fog. And strenthened my kidney energy (which I have known/felt is weak for long time) and improved the chi flow through my cells. As I was curious, he checked and said I have about 22 karmic knots.

#4 Monday March 7, 2026

This session was my second with NW from the Bay Area and we decided to focus on the victim identity. (An identity that has surfaced more strongly since the onset of CFS / PTSD.) I did notice some energies during the session, and especially in/around the head during the last 10 minutes.

I’ll spend some time exploring the victim identity more intentionally. Right now, I notice the energy that makes it up, and that it’s connected to stories giving it meaning. He did say that he sensed the particular flavor has to do with nobody helping, and that fits my experience. Especially during elementary school, I felt quite alone and that nobody (or very few) were on my side. I especially felt that nobody were consistently on my side, there were nobody I could lean on or trust to always be there for me.

I am writing this within an hour of the session so there may be more to report tomorrow morning and in the next few days.

Update: The vicitm identity came up quite strongly the following one or two days, but it was much easier to be present with it and see it more for what it is. (Created by images and thoughts without further reality.) It hasn’t come up much since. (I am writing this three weeks later.)

In general after the first three sessions

I have noticed a “high” from two of the three first sessions, and this naturally tapers off over a few days. What stays seems to be the deeper (structural?) changes, such as the healing of the 2nd chakra divine line (very noticable difference) and a deeper sense of strength following the third session.

Another change I notice, as mentioned below, is that I am listening to Arvo Part again, I do tonglen, and I do sitting meditation again.

#3 Tuesday night – March 1, 2016

A session over Skype with NW in the Bay Area. (Who happens to be a friend of friends of mine there.)

He focused mostly on strengthening my system. Again, I experienced some presence and energies during the session, and lasting for perhaps one or two days. I also did feel stronger when I woke up this morning and through the day.

After this session, I have experienced a good deal of energy running through my system and I have had several nights where I only slept 2-3 hours due to this. (I take it as a good sign. It may be that my system just needs time to figure out how to deal with and integrate it.)

I have also been inspired to do more formal sitting meditation again on my own, which I haven’t since I got the CFS some years ago. And I have listened to Byron Katie which I haven’t for a long time.

#2 Sunday morning  – February 28, 2016

A session over Skype with JC in England.

This was mostly focused on the Lyme infection. I experienced some energies during the session. About half an hour following the session I experienced a burning sensation through my body. This lasted for two or three days, and longest in the head area.

#1 Thursday night – February 25, 2016

A session in person with KD.

During the session, I could feel a strong presence and energy in and around me, and a lot of movement in my belly.

Here are some notes he sent to NW in the Bay Area whom I did a session with a few days later.

  • fixed broken divine line in 2nd chakra (yay!)
  • put in most of the standard treatment structures available at Omega level (his system really liked the fascia alignment structures)
  • energized the system with All-Energetics wherever it was most needed (in his case, the sacral/lumbar spine)
  • broke timelines twice in P’s “gut brain”
  • broke timeline on how his system is still in the broad holding pattern of the chronic fatigue
  • checked to see if an infection was present and confirmed it was since I was able to run some tools on it, but for only 10 mins (I had limitations on time)
  • re-patterning and integration at the end

The broken (or blocked?) divine line at the 2nd chakra can apparently create a range of health, emotional, and life problems. I have certainly had my fair share of these since the sudden onset of CFS, PTSD and the darkest part of the dark night.

The morning after this session, I woke up noticing a significant change and thought “I have my old belly back”. The much more healthy belly than what I have experienced over the last 6-7 years (with CFS, PTSD etc.).

I also experienced the full and nourishing feeling I do after having a Five Element acupuncture session, although the energy this time was stronger and lasted longer.

After the session, I found myself drawn to music and practices that were an important part of my life before the onset of the strong CFS / dark night phase. Specifically, the music of Arvo Pärt and the tonglen practice. (During the strong CFS / dark night phase, I still theoretically appreciated it but found it very difficult to listen to the music or actually do tonglen. Something in me was not aligned with it.)

It seems that Vortex Healing is without the backlash that most energy healing modalities have for me. I suspect it’s because it’s guided by – as they say – divine intelligence.

Note: It’s August 2026 and I wanted to mention that the Epstein-Barr virus kept returning until Ric and two other VH teachers did a few minutes healing for me in a class, possibly February 2020. It has not returned since. I got the Lyme disease May 2015 and it lasted until 2019. Vortex Healing helped me first manage and then get rid of that too.
