Dream: Gathering old toys

My brother and I are in the forest, in a clearing with a small shed. Inside the shed are several of his old toys. Our parents had placed them there so he could enjoy playing with them when they were waking in the forest. We are there to gather them up and being them with us. I am surprised they are still there. It feels like the end of a cycle, something that has come to completion.

This was the night after his birthday, and I had posted a congratulation on social media with the photo above. (He, me, a friend of his I liked a lot.) It brought up memories of childhood. The dream reminded me that he had a life for several years before I was born, and the toys were from that time. Our parents don’t have much longer left, so we are closing a cycle and opening for something new.

As kids, we did go for walks in the forest and nature quite often with our parents.

Why the collection of toys from before I was born? Why the forest? Why gathering them? What does all of it reflect in me? I’ll stay with that some more.

The dream was vivid and strong so it still lives with me now, in the mid-afternoon.

Before this dream, I remembered a fragment from an earlier dream. I am with a group of people doing regeneration work and creating a new culture. This has been a recurrent (night) dream over the last few weeks. As I woke up, one sentence was with me: A more life-centered way to organize ourselves.
